Hola! últimamente he visto  miles de twits, fotos y demas cosas en redes sociales elogiando a los 90´s kids hablando de que son y son lo máximo porque tuvieron la oportunidad de crecer con varias cosas súper prittis.

Hey there!  lately I've seen a thousand twits, pics and different posts in social networks in regards of how cooler the 90's kids were in comparison to the 2000's. They talk and talk about how their childhood was so much better because they had the opportunity to grow up enjoying several things we never new existed.

Yo nací el 3 de septiembre en el 1995, así que en teoría estoy en todo el derecho de tirarme de 90´s kid si me provoca, pero la verdad no veo la necesidad. Hay demasiadas cosas muy cooles que pasaron en los 2000s cuando yo ya tenía mas memoria, no entiendo porque la gente simplemente decide no reconocerlas y las deprecian comparandolas con las cosas que vivieron los niños de los 90s.

I was born on september the 3rd, on 1995 so technically I AM a 90's kid, and I could go around trashing younger generations because mine was way cooler...but I really don't see the point on trashing the 00's. They were too cool and I clearly had more memory back then so I do feel more connected towards them. I really do not understand why people keep depreciating them in comparison to the 90s...they were cool too!

Creo esta película salió hace rato en Estados Unidos y en otros países en América, Asia, Africa, Europa y Australia, pero como siempre en mi querido Panamá las películas por lo general llegan tardisimo. Es súper triste cuando me pumpeo fokop para una película y la ve el resto del mundo antes que yo, cosa que es difícil para los que viven en Panamá porque obvio no duden que yo soy de esas ladillas que llaman a las centrales telefónicas de las salas de cine a joder preguntando cuando estrenan las películas que me interesan.

I´m positive this movie has been out for a while in the states and in other countries in America, Africa, Asia, Australia and Europe, but as always not out in my dearest Panama which tends to be late on Hollywood Blockbusters. It´s really sad when I get super pumped up about a film, and suddenly the whole world sees it before me, thing that is actually really hard for those who live in my country, Panama....I´m one of those annoying people who calls movie theatres to demand information about release dates and such of the movies I care about.

Siendo un disney girl, no había manera que yo me perdiera Saving Mr.Banks, la primera película de Disney en donde alguien hace el personaje de mi ídolo NUMERO UNO, Walter Disney. 

Being a Disney girl, there was no way in hell I was gonna miss Saving Mr. Banks, the first Disney movie where somebody actually plays my NUMBER ONE all-time idol, Walt Disney.

El actor que tuvo el honor de tener ese papel, no es mas perfecto porque no se puede. La verdad es que Tom Hanks se merece su plata. Ese talento de el es increíble, siempre será uno de mis actores favoritos. Nunca en mi vida he visto algo malo que tenga su nombre, es excelente.

The actor with the honor to portray such a wonderful man was no other than talent perfection in flesh, Tom Hanks. He totes deserves his money. He is amazing and will always be one of my favorite actors. I have never in my life seen a bad movie with him in the credits, he´s just amazing. 

Al ir hoy al cine a ver esta película, salí con todo el maquillaje corrido. Como me pasa a menudo, llore mas de la cuenta en una película, nada nuevo. Pero con esta fue diferente. Que belleza que Tom Hanks haya tenido el talento y la pureza en entrar en personaje de una manera tan exacta que a mi se me olvidara que el en serio no era Walt. Increíble. 

Going today to the movies, I left the theatre with eyeliner dripping from my water-line. As usual, I cry way more than I should on movies..nothing new. Although my crying on this one was different. Tom Hanks´s art was beautiful. I´m still yet to understand how he had the talent and purity in entering in character so deeply in such an exact manner that I would even forget that his not really Walt, but Tom.

Ahorita mismo todos mis otros compañeros amantes de Disney están muriéndose de amor por " Frozen", la nueva película animada...y con todo derecho por que esta excelente. Mas mágica imposible. Las voces de los cantantes, especialmente la de Idina Menzel son de otro mundo. 

Aunque ame Frozen, debo decir que para mi no será la mejor de Disney de esta Temporada, sino Saving Mr. Banks. "Que belleza" se queda corto. único que le ubiera cambiado yo es el nombre en español de "El sueño de Walt"a "Salvando al señor Banks". La verdad es que el titulo es un poco engañoso. El personaje principal en esta película no es Walt, sino la autora de los libros de Mary Poppins (que procedere a leerme prontamente), Pamela Travers, ejecutado a la PERFECCIÓN por Emma Thompson.

Right now, all my fellow disney lovers are head over heels for Disney's new animated treat: Frozen...and they're right in being so, Frozen was SO good. It couldn't have possibly been more magical. The singer's voices, especially Idina Menzel's were out of this world. 

Even though I loved Frozen, I must say it wasn't the best of Disney this season, it was Saving Mr Banks without a doubt. "BEAUTIFUL" falls short. Truth be told, the only thing I would've changed would be the spanish title version, "El sueño de Walt" (translating into Walt's Dream). This title is misleading. The movie's main character isn't Walter Disney, but the Mary Poppins books (which I would shortly start reading) author, Pamela Travers, played to perfection by Emma Thompson.

No les quiero explicar la perfección del titulo en ingles para no dañarles parte del trama, solo sepan es perfecto. En serio tómense el tiempo de ver esta película, es un deleite a los ojos, exude todo lo que es Disney: Magia, sueños y fantasia

I really do not want to go into details about how perfect the english title is for the film to not spoil the plot, just know in your heart it's perfect. I really encourage you to see this film, it's a treat for the eyes, exuding everything disney is about: magic, dreams and fantasy.

Cada día me impresionan mas los bloggers serios. Ustedes no saben cuanto me siento a cranear que escribir y sigo en blanco, es dark. Como sigo en blanco creo que simplemente tendré este tab abierto durante el día y escribiré los pensamientos randoms que me vengan durante el día. En verdad que huevos que los hombres no se tienen que depilar, solo por ese pequeño detalle las mujeres deberían ganar mas plata. La canasta básica de las mujeres tan es mas grande. Es higiene, y es fuckin caro. Con la pendejada las mujeres se gastan al rededor de 60 palos al mes en quitarse algo que en teoría debería estar ahí pero si lo dejan son unas cochinas. It is seriously not fair that guys don't have to wax, just because of that little fact women should totally be paid more. The basic survival shopping for a women is so much bigger, and it´s not vanity....it´s hygiene. I am yet to meet a man that thinks pubic hair is sexy. Women spend at least 60 dollars waxing a month. Drastically (and painfully!!) removing hair that should stay there in theory, and girls who don't wax are seen as dirty. What do we, women gain from this!? Seriously our salaries need to increase.

I think it's seriously funny how convenience stores here in Panama charge you for the 3rd little packet of Spenda or sugar, because they do in case you haven't noticed.

Ayer fueron los Golden Globes, y aunque confieso que me los perdí por estar cenando con una amiga obviamente no había manera humana que yo me resistiera a ver las fotos del red carpet, obviamente tengo que saber quien gano pero eso medio que puede esperar, veré la repetición completita esta semana. No se si me estoy tirando de mega fashionista haciendo este blog post, pero normal... creo que todos tenemos derecho a una opinión y esta es la mía acerca de quienes fueron las estrellas de la noche y quienes simplemente se la cagaron.    /

The Golden Globes where yesterday, and even though I confess to not have watched them as I do yearly because I was having dinner with a friend, there was simply no way I was gonna miss the red carpet looks. I obviously have to watch the award show, and I plan on doing that soon, but catching up on the looks is just easier. I'll watch re-runs of the whole thing later. I'm not sure if I'm being annoying at playing fashionista, but everybody always has an opinion, and here's mine about who killed it and who was a disaster on yesterday's carpet.

6. La talentosisima, única verdadera estrella de mi serie favorita, American Horror Story... que aparentemente puede hacer todo menos vestirse, Jessica Lange.

Bérénice Bejo, es argentina y jamas había escuchado de su existencia pero según IMDB, a tenido una carrera bastante prometedora, hasta salió en The Artist  /  Berenice Bejo is argentininan and I had never heard her name in my life, but according to IMDB she's pretty famous, she was even on The Artist

No se ni con que comparar este vestido Bérénice. Es un completo y total desastre. Ni si quiera te queda /

3.  La detesto. La detesto. Me parece hipócrita y ella solita hace que su programa de televisión,Project Runway de pereza, además de que tiene fama de bruja. Por lo general no esta fea, la carajita es bella pero ayer se la cagó. No se si me debería dar pena la risa que me da cuando esta fea... no sorry, no me da pena. Tres aplausos para el tercer puesto en mi lista de peores vestidas, Heidi Klum!!/

6.  Mi actriz favorita del momento, Jennifer Lawrence esta ESPECTACULAR. No se bien porque a tanta gente no le gusta, Es verdad que el mismo fitting del vestido no es perfecto, y creo esta un poco mal planchado y que debió haber usado un push-up bra, pero su maquillaje y accesorios le quedan bellos...ademas de que el mismo vestido me gusta mucho! Yo hubiera debutado con esto 100%, otro día cuando sea un poco mas responsable buscare las fotos y las pondre por si lo quieren ver. 

My favorite actress of the moment, Jennifer Lawrence looks SPECTACULAR. I'm not quite sure why so many people don't like her look. It is true that the fitting is not perfect, and I even think it isn't ironed correctly and maybe she should've worn a push-up bra, but her makeup and accessories look beautiful...besides, I really really like the dress itself! I would've definitely worn this for my Debutants ball. Another day when I result to being a little more responsible I'll look for the pictures and post them in case you guys want to see them.

Tiempo al tiempo

Sin duda alguna hoy es otro de esos días que no se me ocurre absolutamente nada que escribir e hago un intento de escribir un par de lineas que no sean tanto una zandes (se escribe así) para ver si logro entretener a alguien aparte de a mi misma. De todas maneras, estaba hablando con una amiga hace poco y llegamos a la conclusión que en verdad todos los blogs son estúpidos. Son literalmente awebasones en la cabeza de alguien mas y como no lo pensaste tu se vuelve medio interesante (si Susana, estoy hablando de ti si lees esto.)

Hoy estaba pensando en el tiempo. ¿Cuanto tiempo es mucho y cuanto tiempo es poco? En verdad no se. No me gusta decir que las cosas son relativas pero el tiempo parece serlo. Estar haciendo ejercicio por un año suena como un millón de tiempo, algo que diría alguien súper dedicado y con probablemente un cuerpaso fuera de serie. En cambio si es un bebe de un año suena exactamente como eso, un bebe. Se nos olvida la cantidad de tiempo que es 365 días. Tengo 18 años, y soy muy mala en matemáticas así que no voy a sacar la cuenta de cuantos días esos son, pero deben ser bastantes y nunca he cumplido mi lista entera de resoluciones de nuevo año. Es mas cada año escribo casi que las mismas tres pendejadas: La clásica dieta, la de hacer ejercicio y la de hacer amigos nuevos. La tercera siempre es la mas fácil, aunque por alguna razón siempre se me ha dificultado mas es mantenerlos. El inicial "Hola, soy Gaby" se me viene muy fácil, como sabrán mis followers de twitter. Pero supongo que si no mantengo esas amistades al final no son amistades, si no conocidos. 

Creo que llevo casi dos meses leyendo el mismo libro, Insurgent de Veronica Roth, cosa que me parece inverosímil. Yo juraba que apenas terminara la secundaria me autoproclamaria una book worm oficial. Bueno, normal. Creo que es cierto si digo que me he mantenido ocupada.

Regresando al tema del tiempo. Dato random acerca de mi: todos los días trato de ordenar mi cuarto en un lapso de 3 canciones y por lo general lo logro. Lo gracioso del tema es que todos los dias antes de empezar, creo que no voy a acabar, que mi desorden es muy grande. Es increíble todo lo que se puede hacer en un par de minutos de concentración. Pienso que sobre-estimamos lo que podemos hacer en un día y subestimamos lo que se puede hacer en un rato. Las películas duran 2 horas, y nos cuentan una historia que muchas veces parece larga y detallada. Creo que podemos hacer eso mismo con nuestros días.

Without a doubt, today is another of those days that I have no idea what to blog about and I attempt to write a few lines that are not too stupid to see if maybe I get to entertain someone, apart from myself. Anyways I was talking to a friend the other day and we arrived to the conclusion that all blogs are stupid. They're literally someone's random thoughts scattered all over a web page and since you did not think about them, you end up finding them entertaining. (Yes Susana, I'm talking about you if you ever read this haha)

Today I was thinking about time. How long is a lot of time and how long is too little? I really don't know. I hate saying that thinks are relative but I kind of feel time gets a free pass. For example, working out everyday for a whole years sounds like a lot and something someone with a lot of dedication, and probably a really hot body does. But saying that a child has lived for only a year sounds like so little, Not even a child, but more like a baby. When it is clearly the same amount of time, 365 days. I'm 18 and I suck at math so there's no way I'm counting how many days I've lived, but you probably figured they've been a lot and I've never fully achieved my New Year's resolutions. Thinking about it I kind of right the same 3 things every year: diet, working out and new friends. The third one is always the easiest. The only actual difficulty for me in it is keeping the friendship. The initial "Hola, soy Gaby" comes very easily. Thinking about it, if I don't really keep the friendships they're not really my friends, they're more like my acquaintances.

I think I've spent almost two months reading the same book, Insurgent by Veronica Roth---> thing I find so weird. I really thought that as soon as I finished high school I'd be the biggest book worm alive. I kind of being busy though, so I guess I get my tardiness.

Going back to the "time" topic, random fact about me: Everyday I spend 3 songs picking up my room, and generally I get it clean in the time due. It's funny how every day before I start I doubt if I'll finish on time and I always do. It is amazing what we can accomplish and a few minutes. I think we tend to over-estimate what we can do in a day and underestimate what we can accomplish in just a little while. Movies last two hours and they tell huge stories.We should be more like movies and use our time well ...

Mi lugar en el mundo

Como cualquiera niña de 18 años, noten que dije niña, aunque en teoría puedo chupar, votar y hasta casarme siendo completa y totalmente legal me siento una niña. Me falta demasiado por descubrir y experimentar para encontrar mi lugar en el mundo aunque ayer me entro la sensación que voy por un buen camino. Hoy 9 de enero, día muy significativo en Panamá , día de mártires  hay un evento en el teatro de la ACP en donde gracias al Señor me han dado la oportunidad de ser backstage. Solo llevo una semana trabajando, y aunque muchas veces siento que no estoy haciendo nada, no puedo poner en palabras lo feliz que estoy de aprender, porque cuando aprendo APRENDO. Ver el montaje y el ensayo ayer fue mágico, una total bendición. Esto es 100% lo que yo quiero hacer con mi vida, producir; ser parte del show. Obvio aunque mi sueño sea mas grande y hable de películas y alfombras rojas no se me ocurren ningún mejor lugar en Panamá para aprender. Que loco es todo! Es INCREIBLE. WAO ojalá si viven en Panamá se animen a ir o a verlo televisado en TVN. Los mártires se merecen todo el homenaje del mundo, y la voz de Ricardo Velásquez es algo increíble, y ademas de ser super guapo es demasiado nice! Amo los hombres artistas, y mas cuando aportan su talento a una causa tan justa! que belleza! buscare un video de el cantando para ponerlo y que lo escuchen cantar.

Just like every 18 year old girl, please note I said girl even though in theory am an adult in my country, able to drink, vote and even get married being completely and 100% legal I still feel a girl. There's still so much to discover and experiment to find my place in the world, even though yesterday I got this warm feeling inside that I was on the right path. Today, January the 9th is a very significative day for Panama, a day of martyrs. There's this event in the ACP theatre where thanks God I've been given the opportunity to be part of team backstage. So far, I only have one week working and even though so many times I feel I'm not doing anything, I cannot put into words how thrilled I am to learn, 'cause when I learn I really do LEARN. Seeing the montage and rehearsal yesterday was magical, a total blessing. This is 100% what I want to do with my life, producing; I want to be part of the show. Even though obviously my dream grows bigger featuring Hollywood blockbusters and red carpets I can't picture a better place to learn in Panama. Everything is so crazy! It is AMAZEBALLS. WOW, I really do hope you live in Panama so that if you feel like it you can go to the theatre and see the show or catch it on TV since TVN is having it on. The martyrs deserve all the homage in the world, and Ricardo Velasquez's voice is something to you better listen. It's just wow. Besides him just being super handsome and so very nice! I love artistic men, and even more when they aport their talents for a noble cause. I'm so gonna look for a youtube vid of him singing so you guys can listen.

Trabajo?

Esto de ser pasante por mas de parecer que no hago nada, excepto seguir a mi jefa por ahí todo el día cansa un millón! He paseado por todo el país. En solo mi primer día fui a dos reuniones de logística, una con el ballet nacional y otra con Runners pty para una carrera/caminata. Hoy aprendí y me di cuenta una vez mas que todo es mas complicado de lo que parece siempre y que hay un millón de gente envuelta en los pequeños proyectos que pasan desapercibidos. Todos deberíamos ser mas agradecidos! Como fue mi primer día en verdad metida en la oficina, no tengo ninguna anécdota que compartir aunque espero tenerlas pronto!

Being an intern is exhausting! Even if it looks like I do nothing but follow my boss around all day. I feel like I've been traveling around the whole city. In just my first day actually being in the office I went to two logistic meetings, one with the national ballet and another with Runners pty for race/ family walk. Today I learned once again that everything is more complicated than what it seems, and their's a ton of people involved in the making of even the smallest projects that go by unnoticed. We should all be more grateful of everything! Like I said before, this was my first day actually being in the office so I really don't have any fun anecdote to share, but I hope to have some soon!

Siendo completamente honesta, no tengo idea de que escribir hoy y siento obligación a hacerlo por mis resoluciones 2014... mientras abro (como siempre) mil y un tabs en mi google chrome, pienso en los blogs que yo leo, como siempre tienen algo que decir. Ojalá yo fuera así de creativa! Siendo justos, acabo de comenzar en esto de la vida de bloggera. Ni si quiera se setiar bien la página, aunque planeo ser una experta profesional del mecanismo este conocido como blogspot antes que termine enero.

4. Humans of New York. Mi sueño dorado desde que tengo memoria es vivir en Nueva York, ni el castillo encantado de Cenicienta me parece tan mágico como las calles de esta ciudad. Se me paran los pelos de solo pensarlo. Yo nací Newyorkina en Panamá, un poco triste, pero 100% cierto. No importa, me llevo mi sabor latino cuando me mude algún día. \

5. Lauren Conrad ha avanzado tanto desde The Hills. Su blog es súper femenino, útil para la vida cotidiana y fácil de leer. Es mentira si digo que no me fascina, puede que sea el que mas visito. Ella es como una princesa! Super delicada y pulcra, la reina de los diy y no es mentira que su vida entera es como un pinterest andante. ¿Como no amarla?

Being completely and 100% honest, I have no idea what to write today and kind of feel the obligation to because of my 2014 resolutions. As I open (like I kind of do everyday) a thousand and a few more tabs on my chrome, I think about the blogs I enjoy reading and how they always have something fun to say. I wish I was that creative! Although being fair, I just started living the blogger life so... I kind of dont even know how to properly set my blogspot. 5.Lauren Conrad has come a long way since The Hills. Her blog is super girly, neat and useful for any woman's daily life encounters, plus it's very easy to read! I'm totally lying if I don't say I love it. It probably is the blog I go into the most. She is like a real-life princess! So clean and delicate, queen of DIY and it's no lie that her life is like a walking pinterest board. (So cute!) What's not to love?

            

          

Bangerz are Going to Hell: Idea Millonaria #1 del 2014

Por alguna razón que yo todavía no entiendo, mi hora favorita para hacer ejercicio es a eso de la madrugada o muy tarde en la noche. Eso obvio tiene que cambiar pronto, no puedo seguir acostándome a dormir a las 3 o 4 de la mañana y despertarme temprano para ir a la oficina. Bueno, de todas maneras ayer me acosté tardisimo haciendo ejercicio y como siempre, la única manera que no me tire de la elíptica o muera lentamente a causa del aburrimiento es poniendome a escuchar música, y a escucharla de verdad. Por alguna razón así se me pasa el tiempo mas rápido y la hora de cardio no es taaaan aburrida (aunque lo sigue siendo, pero no tanto).

En mi shuffle del ipod es super normal que salgan canciones de Miley Cyrus, especialmente de su nuevo album "Bangerz" o de la banda de Taylor Momsen, The Pretty Reckless y su nuevo disco "Going to Hell" (en caso que seas de esas personas que viven debajo de una piña como Bob Esponja o algo en Fondo de Bikini y no te llegue la información de quien es la diosa Taylor Momsen, ella es la que hacía de Jenny en Gossip Girl, y aunque era bastande buena actriz se nota que lo suyo es la música, no solo por su fama de rebelde y diva en el set, sino porque su banda es MUY buena en serio)

Me vino a la cabeza una de esas ideas millonarias que poca veces se cumplen y por alguna razón aparente se nos ocurren a los que estamos despiertos a esas horas destinadas a dormir o a ver re-runs de realitys completamente estúpidos con setenta mil temporadas que siguen sin cancelar (probablemente por esa gente que los ve "cuando no hay nada que ver") como "The Bachelor" o las infamous "Kardashians". Al fin y al cabo mi idea es bastante simple: creo que Miley y Taylor deberían colaborar.

A simple vista puede parecer que estas dos no combinan, The Pretty Reckless es rock relativamente pesado, y la nueva Miley paro de ser una princesa del bubble-gum pop para ser una o mas bien la reina del hip hop/pop urbano, un estilo que en mi opinion le queda mucho mejor. Si, yo soy de esas que aman a la nueva Miley, por mi que twerkée hasta la tumba y saque la lengua todo el día. Me parece divertidísima, es como un reflejo de esa niña descaradamente rebelde que todas tenemos adentro y nunca sacamos. La verdad no creo que ella esta tan loca como parece y como la gente cree, todo es parte del show, uno que le esta saliendo de maravilla y me encanta ver. Es completamente inesperado y siempre da de que hablar, para mi eso es un artista. Cuando eres artista, mejor que hablen mal de ti, a que no hablen del todo ¿no?

Igual que Miley, Taylor es una rebelde, creo que sus estilos se podrían complementarse como en Heaven Knows The Pretty Reckless y  FU de Miley Cyrus. ¿Entonces que esperan managers? Unanlas! si lo hacen, veo un hit en el futuro. Fula rebelde a.) + fula rebelde b.) = MEGA HIT

For some reason I am yet to understand, my favorite time to workout is at the woo hours of the night.  That obviously has to change soon , I can't keep going to sleep at 3 or 4 in the morning and waking up early to go to the office. Anyways, yesterday was another of those days and let me tell you,  the only way I won't throw myself out of the elliptical  or die out of boredom is to listen to some music, but really listen. This makes time go by a little quicker and makes cardio time a little less I-wanna-shoot-myself-slow (just a little...) 

It is pretty normal for my ipod to shuffle some Miley Cyrus, especially her new album "Bangerz" , which I love into the playlist or some Taylor Momsen and her band, The Pretty Reckless and their awesome new album "Going to Hell" (if you are of those living under a pineapple or something like  Sponge Bob in Bikini Bottom and you haven't heard of goddess Taylor Momsen, she played Jenny in Gossip Girl, and although she was a pretty good actress you can tell her thing is really music, not only because for her rebellious diva on set reputation, but because her band is actually very good).

One of those million dollar ideas that for some reason come to mind to those who are awake at those hours which  are intended to sleep or watch re -runs of completely stupid reality shows with seventy thousand seasons that remain without being cancelled ( probably for people who watch them " when there's nothing else to watch" ) like "The Bachelor" or the infamous " Kardashians " came to me.  Anyhow,  my idea is pretty simple and reasonable:  I think Miley and Taylor should collaborate. 

At first glance it may seem that these two do not mix , The Pretty Reckless is somewhat heavy rock, and the new Miley stopped being a  bubble -gum pop princess to be one or rather the queen of hip hop / urban pop , style which in my opinion fits her better. And yes, I am one of those who love the new Miley, she can twerk 'till death and stick out her tongue all day. I think she is actually really fun; kind of the reflection of that rebellious teenager we all have inside but never let out. I don't think she is as crazy as she sounds, or as people think she is, it is all part of the show, which happens to be coming out great and which I  really enjoy watching. It is alway unexpected and gives something to talk about, to me that is an artist. When you are an artist it's better to have people talk shit about you, than having them not talk at all. 

Like Miley, Taylor is a die-hard rebel and I think their styles could complement beautifully, like in the The Pretty Reckless song Heaven Knows or the Miley song FU. So what are you waiting managers? Meet them up! Rebel Blondie A + Rebel Blondie B= MEGA HIT.
