Se que hoy es domingo y que en teoría este post esta designado para los sábados y que justo la semana pasada les hice la misma caída y prometí que no sucedería de vuelta, pero siendo honesta ayer traté de escribir esto y no se me ocurría nada, y pensé que mejor calidad a puntualidad verdad?

Bueno, con esta excusa medio galla los dejo aquí con lo que he seleccionado como mis cosas favoritas de la semana, espero se diviertan y encuentren algo nuevo que les guste :)

I know today's Sunday and I'm kind of supposed to post this every saturday and just last week I made the same mistake and promised you guys to not do it again...BUT being completely honest when I sat yesterday and tried to write this up I had NO idea what to write so I thought that quality was more important than punctuality, right? 

Well, with this kinda lame excuse I leave you with what I have picked as my favorites for the week, I hope you enjoy it and discover something new you might like :)

Descubrí a "Stonecoldbetch" esta semana en twitter y después me di cuenta que también tiene un blog súper pritti. Lo que hiso que ella se me vendiera rápidamente fue su bio de twitter que me dio mucha risa. dice "degenerate beauty queens, come sit with me" o en español "reinas de belleza degeneradas, siéntense conmigo". I discovered "stonecoldbetch" this week on twitter and later I realized that this girl also has a pretty cool blog. What sold stonecoldbetch for me was her hilarious twitter bio: "degenerate beauty queens, come sit with me". Her social media is really sassy and fun. "Home" de Edward & the magnetic Zeros. Me fascina wao. La escuche por primera vez como soundtrack de una de mis películas favoritas "Stuck in Love". Me llamo mucho la atención como la primera y la última escena de la película tienen esta canción de fondo. Me encantó. Cantan como una historia y pienso yo que esas son las mejores canciones.

"Home" by Edward & the Magnetic Zeros. I really love this guys. Heard it for the first time as soundtrack to one of my favorite movies, "Stuck in Love". The song really caught my attention since it was used as background music for the movie's first and last scenes. The song is pretty much a story, and I've always thought those are the best type of songs. The link is above if you feel like listening.

Puede que sea un pasa tiempo medio infantil pero yo obvio soy una peter pan que no crece y esta vaina es mi vida. Me la paso haciéndolos cada vez que puedo! As of right now mi agenda esta llena de fotos de revistas y mis amigas están hartas que les pida mas y más revistas viejas cada vez que me pasan a buscar o algo. No se wao, me parece demasiado divertido. Lo que sí, esta cosa ensucia como nada. Es increíble como todo se enpuerca rapidísimo con los pedacitos de recortes.les recomiendo tener un basurero siempre que se vayan a tirar de artistas. La recogida que viene después siempre dura más de lo esperado.

It may be sort of childish but I really love it. I'm totally a never-aging peter pan gal and this shit is mah life. I seriously spent so much time doing this. As of right now my agenda/day planner is completely filled with magazine cut-outs and my friends are seriously sick of listening to me ask for their old magazines. I son't know why, but I find this uber fun. The only not so great part of this hobby is the mess it leaves behind. It can get your floor really dirty with little magazine pieces. I do recommend you get a trashcan for those artsy days were you feel like collaging your whole life.

The completely stupid, yet apparent glorification of sorrow

Hola gente! Llevo casi una semana de no aparecer por aquí y les pido disculpas si me han extrañado. Mi vida ha estado un poco enredada (aunque súper súper cool) y no he sabido encontrar el tiempo para escribir. Bueno sin mas excusas aquí los dejo con mi nuevo post en el que intento analizar un fenómeno de mi generación que me molesta sobre manera, la glorificación de la tristeza y mas que nada el negativismo.

Hi guys! It's been about a week since I've been around and I'm sorry for that if you missed me in any way. My life has been a little crazy (it's been really really cool though) and I kind of didn't figure out how to keep my blog updated. Well without any more excuses here I leave you guys with my new blog post in which I make an attempt to analyze the phenomenom of the glorification of depression and negativism that my generation has decided to worship, and which I hate dearly.

Creo que el 99.9% de población del mundo esta de acuerdo conmigo en que estar triste o deprimido no es en ninguna manera divertido. A pesar de esto, mi generación a decidido que es súper chevere glorificar la tristeza y la depresión como si fuera lo mas hermoso del mundo. Como ya saben probablemente si leen este blog, yo soy amante de tumblr. Algo que encuentro ahí a menudo son fotos artísticas con quotes totalmente deprimentes con lindos paisajes de fondo o hasta fotos de cortadas, mostrándolas como cicatrícez de victoria. Yo no se ustedes, pero a mi toda la vida las cicatrices de self-harm me han dado fóbia/pánico. No crean que es porque no respeto a las personas que lo hacen o han hecho o que pienso que solo lo hacen para llamar la atención. A mi me me da mucha rabia cuando no entiendo. Me hace sentir estúpida y me sofoco rápido (sí, se que tengo que trabajar en eso). No entiendo que podría poseer a alguien para cortarse a si mismo. Me da mucho dolor la idea de la miseria que deben sentir y se me aguan los ojos con solo pensarlo. 

I'm positive that 99.9% of humanity agrees with me in that being sad or depressed is in no way fun. In spite of this, my generation has decided it's super cool to glorify being sad as if it was the most beautiful thing to ever exist. As you may already know, if you read this blog I really love tumblr. Something I find there often are artsy pictures with totally depressing quotes with like pretty scenarios as backgrounds or sometimes there's even pictures of people showing of their self-harm scars as someone would show off a trophy. I don't know about you guys, but all my life I've been phobic of self-harm scars. Don't think that it's because I don't like self-harming people or because I think that they're trying to call attention or anything. Something that gets me really mad is not understanding, it makes me feel really stupid. And I sincerely do not understand what would posses someone to cut himself/herself. Just the idea of the pain and misery they must feel makes my eyes water.

NO entiendo porque alguien quisiera glorificar eso. Gente que no esta deprimida llamando esas fotos hermosas, como si la tristeza fuera the best way to go, casi que invitando a los demás a expresar sus penas de la misma mánera y a estar deprimidos tambien. Eso no esta bien. Las cortadas de alguien no deben llamarse hermosas, estas personas necesitan ayuda! No otras personas que les digan que lo que están haciendo esta bien y que es "hermoso" cuando no lo es, es triste. La gente, especialmente los adolescentes tienen que entender que "depresión" y "belleza" no son lo mismo. Entiendo que las cosas pueden ser hermosas a pesar de ser tristes, pero hay demasiada gente que los trata como si fueran sinónimos.

I DON'T understand why somebody would want to glorify such a feeling. People that are not depressed calling these pictures beautiful, as if sorrow was the best way to go. Almost as if inviting everyone else to be depressed as well and cut to relieve their pain. This is in no way okay. Somebody's cuts should not be called beautiful, this people need help! Not more people encouraging them and calling their self-harm "beautiful" when it clearly isn't, it's sad. People, teenagers specially need to understand that "sad" does not equal "pretty". I understand that something can be very beautiful in spite of being really sad, but those are exceptions. These two are not synonyms. 

Entiendo lo difícil que puede ser la vida, pero a pesar de todo es HERMOSA, y mientras mas leo The Secret y veo otras cosas de self-help y positivismo mas ganas me dan de vivir feliz como Dios manda. Les prometo que si les hes difícil sigan intentandolo, es posible ser feliz. Yo era una persona sumamente negativa y cambie ese aspecto de mi para este 2014 y les puedo decir que ese pequeño cambio de perspectiva le ha dado a mi vida un giro de 360 para lo mejor. Aprecio a todas y cada una de las personas que leen mi blog y en serio les deseo lo mejor, por favor ámense a ustedes mismos!

Coman saludable, vístanse para ustedes mismos no para impresionar a nadie, ejercítense, sean agradecidos por el simple hecho de estar vivos y sean felices.

Life can be really tough, I know but in spite of it all its BEAUTIFUL and the more I read the secret and other self-help books and other positive stuff more excited I get about living happy, like the Lord wants me to. I promise that if looking at the bright side is hard for you, you need to keep trying! You owe it to yourself:) I was a really negative person and this 2014 I decided to be my best self, and that meant as positive as I could be, and I promise you that just that change of perspective has given my life a spin of 360 for the best. I appreciate anyone who takes the time to read my posts a lot and I really do wish you guys the best, please please please love yourselves. Eat healthy, dress like you like to dress, not to impress anybody else, work out, be grateful to be alive and just be happy!

I feel super guilty doing this meant-for-Saturday post on Sunday. It's like a broke a promise to myself and maybe to you if you look this up every week, like I want to think you do. Well ere it goes, better late than never right?

1. Un disco

No es secreto que amo la música, y en caso que no lo sepan mi película favorita es Nightmare Before Christmas (El Extraño Mundo de Jack) de Tim Burton. Cuando ví este disco a principios del año pasado en el gift shop del ride de Piratas del Caribe en Disney era OBVIO que lo necesitaba. Y fue QUE buena compra les digo.

Este disco es una recopilación del soundtrack de la película pero esta vez cantado por rock bands en vez de los artistas originales, y sí no solo es tan bueno como suena, es mil veces mejor.

It's no secret that I love music, and in case you don't know this already Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas is my favorite movie. When I saw this CD on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride gift shop last year I definitely had to have it . And let me tell you it was the best buy EVER. 

This CD is a remake of the movie's soundtrack performed by rock bands. My favorite is This is Halloween by Marilyn Manson, it's so creepy I love it. I know it sounds awesome already, but believe it or not it's more awesome than what it sounds. Manicures.

No se porque ni cuando empezó, pero estoy segura que no soy la única que se siente especialmente bonita cuando tiene las manos hechas. Hace poco estaba razonando de lo dependiente que soy a mi manicurista y como eso no es inteligente del todo! Toda mi vida he sabido que voy a vivir fuera de Panamá y la verdad es que no se me ocurren muchos otros países donde un manicure completo cueste 7 dólares. Se que pronto (no tan pronto así que no se precipiten) me iré a estudiar afuera (les contare mas cuando tenga la informacion clara y confirmada) y obviamente planeo llevarme mis rutinas de belleza conmigo (mis mascarillas de miércoles y domingo, las cremas anti celulitis mis vitaminas para el pelo entre otras cosas), son parte de mi! Tengo que saber valerme por mi sola. Los estudiantes universitarios siempre están broke o por lo menos ese es el esteriotípo y si quiero tener algo parecido a una vida social tengo que saber manejar mis finanzas y no gastarme plata en boberías que puedo hacer sola, como un manicure. Por eso este 2014 me estoy empeñando a aprender BIEN y aunque voy lento voy seguro, creo estoy mejorando! Ayer no me podía dormir y empesé a buscar pinta uñas en amazon y me gustaron tanto que hasta hice un wishlist solo de eso! Manicures.

I´m not sure why this happens or when it even started but I'm positive I'm not the only one who feels specially pretty when I have my nails done. A while ago I was reasoning about how dependent I am of my manicurist about this and how that's not a smart move AT ALL. All my life I've known I'm not gonna live on Panama andI can't think of many other countries were a manicure is $7.00. I know that soon, not too soon so don't get over excited. I'll tell you all about it when I know where for sure. And I obviously plan on taking all of my beauty routines with me (the face mask sundays and mondays, my anti cellulite creams, and my hair vitamins) 'case they're part of me! I need to know how to this on my own! College students are always broke, or that's at least the stereotype and I cannot be spending the big bucks on this if I want to have something similar to a social life. That's why this year I'm really working on really knowing how to give myself a mani. Yesterday I couldn't fall asleep so I ended up making a wish list of nail polishes I want on amazon. The one in the picture is the Glam Rock collection by Butter London, and I need it obviously.

Hace rato que la vi, y me gusto tanto que no se ni que decirles. No es secreto que Ellen Page puede ser de las mejores actrices de esta generación, cosa que sabe cualquiera que haya visto Juno, una de mis películas favoritas. Otro masterpiece de Ellen es "Hard Candy", una película de una adolescente que asalta la casa de un pedófilo en planes de exponerlo. I saw this a while ago and I loved it so much I don't even know what to sat. It's no secret that Ellen Page might be the best actress of outr generation and most people know her by Juno, which is one of my favorite movies. Never the less Hard Candy is pretty awesome.It's about this teenager that raids a pedophile's house in orther to expose him Because I really want to get you guys pumped up about it, above is the linkf for the trailer. Hola! Conozco mucha gente que como yo,AMA lookbook.nu, y gente que no tiene idea de su existencia. Esa última tiene que cambiar. Como podrán ver lookbook.nu es un socialmedia para outfits mas que nada. La verdad yo no tengo user, ni me considero lo suficientemente estilosa para tener (por ahora), pero me inspiran mucho los que si tienen. Hace rato que una canción de un soundtrack de una película me erizara la piel de esta manera, desde Freedom de Anthony Hamilton y Elayna Boyton para Django, si somos exactos. Everybody Wants To Rule The World de Lorde para Catching Fire es más que perfecta para la película. Leí estos libros hace rato, y Catching Fire es mi favorito. AME esta película y AME está canción. Aunque Lorde no sea mi personaje favorito (no se porque me cae mal, pero me cae pésimo) su música me fascina. Tengo el album completo en mi itunes.

I haven't gotten chills from a soundtrack song since "Freedom" by Anthony Burrel and Elayna Boyton for Django, if we're gonna be exact. Lorde's "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" for Catching Fire was more than perfect for the movie. I read those books a a like 3 years ago and Catching Fire was my favorite. I LOVED the movie and LOVED the song. Even though Lorde's just not my favorite person (don't really know why I don't like her, but I just don't!) I love her music. I have the full album on my itunes.

Café. Suena tonto y obvio si me conoces, porque digo probablemente me consideres adícta y hayas entrado a mas de un argumento conmigo en donde yo pelié que no lo era. Bueno antes de ayer me pase un día entero sin tomar y casito me vuelvo LOCA. Lo necesito en mi vida, es un fact.

Coffee. It may sound stupid if you know me, cause you probably already consider me an addict and have entered more than once in an argument with in which I fought saying that I wasn't. Well the day before yesterday I didn't have coffee and I swear I almost died. I seriously went nuts. I need it in my life, and that's a fact.

Antes los odiaba, pero ahora me están gustando buco. Tengo un arete de piercings fake y me encanta como me queda. No me abriría los huecos nunca estoy segura, pero le queda divino a muchos

I used to hate it, but now I've grown to like them a lot. I have a fake piercing and I love how it fits me with certain outfits. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get pierced for real, but I must admit it looks pretty awesome on some people.

Amo los tatuajes, me parece que cuentan historias y mas de una vez he pensado en un tatuaje de la bella y bestia, mi princesa favorita de la infancia y el músical que inicio mi amor por las artes escénicas. Obvio este tatuaje me fascina.

I love tattoos, I feel they tell stories and more than once it has crossed my mid to get a beauty and the best tattoo. Belle was my favorite princess growing up and the musical version of the movie is what really started my love for theatre. I'm obviously loving this tattoo.

Les cuento que una de mis películas favoritas de toda la vida amén es Clueless. No es difícil de imaginar cuanto me gusa si vez el espectacular wardrobe de Cher (Alicia Silverstone) o el bello de Paul Rudd, que más nunca supere desde que lo vi por primer vez en esa película. Anyways, si no la has visto probablemente no le veas la gracia a este video de Iggy Azaela, pero si eres como yo y la has visto mas de 3 veces probablemente quedes fascinada!

Hey everyone! 

One of my favorite movies ever made is Clueless. Really, it's not hard to imagine my infatuation with the flick when you see Cher's (Alicia Silverstone) spectacular wardrobe or the handsome Paul Rudd, that I fell in love with (and never got over) since I first saw this movie. Anyways, If you haven't seen it you'll probably find nothing special on this music video, but if you're like me and have seen it more than 3 times you'll enjoy it A LOT.
